Fernway — booking a whole trip in under three minutes
Fernway is a travel app for flights, stays and experiences. We rebuilt its booking flow from search to checkout so planning a trip feels as good as taking one.

01 — The challenge
Twelve screens between “I want to go” and “booked”
Fernway's booking flow took twelve screens and an average of nine minutes. Travellers had to commit to exact dates before seeing prices, and surprise fees only appeared at the very last step.
Two out of three people who started a booking never finished it. Most didn't leave because of price — they left because the process felt like work.
02 — Approach
Let people dream first, then decide
Step 01
Travel with travellers
18 interviews and session recordings showed people browse loosely for days, then book in one short burst.
Step 02
Flexible-date calendar
A price-heatmap calendar lets travellers pick “a weekend in May” and see the cheapest days at a glance.
Step 03
One-screen checkout
Flight, stay and extras on a single page with the full price shown upfront and Apple Pay in one tap.
03 — Moodboard & key moments

04 — Outcome
Fewer steps, more trips
+27%
Completed bookings in the first quarter
−35%
Abandoned checkouts
2.1 min
Average time to book, down from 9 minutes
“Booking finally feels like the start of the holiday, not a chore before it.”
