Orbit AI — a workspace where people and AI work side by side

Orbit is an AI assistant for operations teams. We designed its dashboard from scratch, turning a blank chat box into a calm workspace that suggests, explains and acts — with people always in control.

01 — The challenge

A powerful model hidden behind a blank box

Orbit's first version was a single chat window. The AI behind it could reconcile invoices, chase late orders and draft reports — but new users stared at an empty prompt and didn't know what to ask.

Teams that did try it didn't trust it. The assistant acted without showing its work, so people double-checked everything by hand and the time savings disappeared.

02 — Approach

Suggest, explain, then act — always with consent

Step 01

Map the real jobs

Shadowing 12 ops teams revealed 30 recurring tasks — the starting point for every suggestion Orbit makes.

Step 02

Prompt bar with suggestions

Context-aware action chips replace the blank box, so people start with one click instead of a perfect prompt.

Step 03

A transparent activity feed

Every action shows its sources, a preview and an undo button, so teams can trust the assistant at a glance.
